Well, this is my first blog ever and I’m sure it’s about time. I think the reason I’ve never blogged in the past is, I love writing, and whenever I had a free moment I’d spend it writing, but as time went by, I realized that Blogging is writing, just in another form.
Then it came down to, what do I blog about … and after speaking with CL Stegall, the CEO of Dark Red Press and one helluva author, he simply stated, just sit down and write. You love to write so blogging is a no brainer, and furthermore, it will let people know who you are.
What I think I will blog about, at least in the immediate future is to blog about my second love (yes, they’re tied) which is reading a novel or watching a good movie. Tonight, I’ll talk about movies … Oh, I’m not a critic by any means but I think I’m pretty much like everyone else and I have an opinion ☺
Tonight will be a quick thought on Prometheus. Over all, I’d give Prometheus about 3 and half stars out of 5, not considering the special effects which I give it a solid 5, however, I have no clue why it was 3D. I didn’t get it.
To me, the movie was flat. The acting was so-so, not to say any of them were bad actors but there wasn’t anything that pulled me into the movie. There was one scene (nope, not going to share it) that should have pulled you in and maybe even jerked a tear or two from your eyes but the overall scene was not the least bit plausible, and although I think they were trying to put you on the edge of your seat, I simply shifted from one cheek to the other. The actor did a great job but what happened in the scene totally ruined it (yes, you’ll probably want to see it just for this comment). And every scene was pretty much like that through the whole movie. Another scene is where two men get lost in a cavern of sort, and as soon as I realized they’re lost I asked myself, you made it to a planet outside of our solar system and it took two years to get there, you have probes going through the mountain (well, I think that’s what it was) and mapping out every nook and cranny but you two got lost … ok, I’m hoping you get my meaning. There are other comments that I will not get into, but I think I gave a good synopsis of the movie. The prequel to Alien, well, Sigourney, you’re still the top at fighting those critters, Prometheus did not come close.
Until next time …
